Pastor (English)

The Chinese Christian Church Hills District is a non-denominational independent Christian Church. We are a genuinely loving church that worships God enthusiastically (Psalm 42). We are a healthy, multicultural, and diverse congregation of approximately 100 members in the Glenhaven suburb of Sydney, seeking a full-time Youth Pastor. The primary responsibility of the Pastor is to oversee the spiritual needs of the Youth and the development of Youth fellowship and Sunday worship as initial key focus with opportunity to move into pastoring English speaking worship service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide spiritual message to nurture the spiritual growth of English speaking congregation including youth.
  • Provides counselling and support to English speaking members of the church including children and teenagers.
  • Overseeing, growing, and coordinating the church's English Sunday worship service.
  • Designing, and overseeing youth fellowship and Sunday worship service.
  • Lead high school and university students to encourage their spiritual growth.
  • Sharing program plans through digital channels.
  • Displaying a Christ-like approach and lifestyle and praying regularly for young people in the church and community.
  • Participates in and contributes to staff meetings on church-related matters.
  • Growing number of students who are interested in the knowledge of God and His Word.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in theology.
  • Evident relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Fluent in English and bilingual in Mandarin/Cantonese a plus
  • Evident relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Maintains an outgoing and positive attitude with the Church members.
  • Previous youth ministry experience is a plus.
  • Must be a good listener and strong public speaker, with the ability to effectively educate and preach the church's religious message.
  • Collaborates well with individuals of all age groups.
  • Must be able to organise, supervise, and lead in the members' spitirual growth
  • Must be an active participant in other church activities besides the youth and English service.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with social media.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Affinity for young people.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Available to work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and public holidays.
Working Environment
  • The work environment will change frequently depending on the nature of the activities.
  • Working hours are organised around student schedules so that most student engagement will occur outside of school hours and on weekends.
  • Additional time during the day will be spent planning activities in an office setting.
  • Must be prepared to conduct some local light travelling and occasional weekend trips.
